Dr Seuss' Horton Hears a Who
The text of this story by Seuss is one of his works where it has a more conventional narrative. The story has a certain charm and has a moral, which of course many of his works do not have. I think that Seuss is a little overrated, but this is typical of his better works for slightly older children.
People seem to go nuts for this work. I'm not quite sure why.
