A brilliant graphic novel. Miller perfectly translates noir sensibilities into the medium of comics while at the same time reinventing them. Miller's art is perfectly suited to the story and very powerful. He reinvents noir by giving us a hero who is clearly psychotic and has almost no redeeming characteristics.
This is a really fine piece of writing, and the art, is seamlessly blended with the writing. The noir storyline is perfectly suited to Miller's stark black and white style. Not just a really good graphic novel but a really good noir work.
Superior to The Big Sleep in my opinion.
