I'd seen the movie of Scott Pilgrim, which I enjoyed, but it definitely works better as a graphic novel. The art is good. It's basically manga art, but manages to evoke the cool, young, urban feel. I live where the comics are set, and it evokes the feeling of the city.
The writing is better than the art. It has a feeling of being disguised autobiography, even though it can not possibly be that. Overall really good work. One of the best graphic novels I've read. It melds traditional comic tropes with an examination of the day to day realities of the urban underground.
I intend to keep reading the series.
